Procrastination

Well, no matter what the job is, I've worked out ways to procrastinate! I have 2 days to get ready to go away for just over a week. In that time I have to cook for a Christmas dinner with friends, go to Narromine to view my family's new farm, have a mothers group Christmas party and go to a farewell party for a lady from church.

Somewhere in that time I have to finish wrapping presents, finish making presents, do the washing and cleaning and pack...yet here I am, sitting on the computer. Why is it that even though I have so much to do, I can't make myself do it!

The presents are finished...Yay Hoorah!

Well, we finished the last of our Christmas Shopping this morning. We managed to get to the shops at a time this morning when there were still car parks!

I dropped into "The Mall" yesterday to pick up a first birthday present, not even thinking about the Christmas Shopping Chaos that lay ahead...when I arrived at the car park, I was shocked to see a parking attendant directing traffic. It was also the first time that I had ever seen all the registers at Big W open.

The fact that I am finished really excites me, because I wasn't looking forward to going to the shops at all this week. Now I just have the joy of wrapping all the presents...oh yeah, & I just realised that I am still "creating" a couple of presents. For the first time in my life I'm Scrapbooking, something I said I would never do...oh well!

I wish all those people who are yet to finish their Christmas shopping well! You poor suckers!

Caleb the Cheeky

So, here's the thing...I'm a little worried. I am pretty good so far at the whole discipline thing with Caleb, but it appears as though he has beginning to master the art of "If i put my head on the side, give a smile and a little giggle and put my hands under my chin, I may just get away with it" and people just go..."oh, isn't he so cute". I'm concerned that he is going to get away with so much with our family and extended family and any other friends etc!

Yet again, he proves that genetically he cannot be anyone elses son other than Chris'!!!

Storms

I love the fact that God has blessed us with so much rain...it's awesome to see the environment around us, which we are so used to seeing in various shades of brown, so lush & verdant!

The rain has come with many many storms. This also has brought much humidity which we aren't so used to out here. The combination of humidity and rain and heat and sun and all those other things that help with photosynthesis, has created much work for Chris and his trusty (well, Dad's trusty) lawnmower. He mowed the lawn last Tuesday and had to mow it again on Saturday as it had grown about 3 or more centimetres in that time. It now looks as though it needs mowing yet again!

Thankfully, the rain has also helped our poor trees which were lacking greatly. My poor melalucha was turning brown, our macadamia tree has died and even my sucullents were beginning to look sad. But now everything is looking healthy, my frangapani has many more leaves this year than it did last year, hopefully I'll have flowers again this year as Fran didn't seem to feel too motherly and didn't sprout any last summer!

So, nature is loving the storms, I'm loving watching the storms...

Amen!

Terrigal

Well, I'm home. I've had a lovely weekend with some lovely women at the beach! We arrived at my sisters house on Thursday night. It was great to catch up with her and her family...our last stay in their rented house as they are moving, as I write this, into their new house.
Friday was off to catch up with the crew and send the boys on their way to Macmasters Beach for a weekend of farting & burping (I was told) amongst Playstation and a whole lot of food.
We had fun dancing, playing Zug um Zug, watching a dvd till the power went out then laughing at each other as each of us tried to do various things that required power!
There was heaps of rain which made for a nice lazy & relaxing weekend...we did get an hour or two of sunlight and heat, though, which we took advantage of and went for a swim...my first for the season.
Caleb was not so much a fan of the beach. The waves seemed to scare him, the sand seemed to annoy him and didn't taste so good. But he was finally content with playing with his new bucket and spade whilst sitting on his beach towel (he wouldn't let his feet touch the sand).
Chris & I headed home, tired but encouraged by the fun had with friends ready to face a new week.
