Card Making & other Crafty Stuff

Well, I've been a bit of a card maker for a while now but tend to do some only as required and never in advance. I have started to make some Christmas cards in preparation..I really enjoy it but still haven't had time to do many. It's kinda scarey to think that Christmas is only 4 weeks away and that my time seems to be fairly heavily booked up between now & then...this also means that there isn't a great deal of time for relaxation either!

I've also made a few cards recently for some friends of ours...the receiver was the same for 3 cards but had 3 different senders so I had to try and make them completely different...quite hard!

So I've really been sucked into the country, stay at home cliche...

Baby Got Book

I saw this a couple of years ago...it's very funny!

Caleb - the Champion

Well, it's always so exciting to see Caleb work out a new trick, I mean, skill. Yesterday, after getting some very cutesy photos taken, I stood him up to get ready to pick him up and he just stood up by himself for the first time! Of course, there were no witnesses that knew he hadn't been able to do it before and Chris wasn't there, so that was a bummer!

Now Chris is trying to get him to do it when he's around, because he's sure that he'll stand up again while he's at work.

Up until the last 24hrs we didn't think he'd be walking for ages. But since the standing up incident, he has decided that it is way more cool to cruise around on his feet around the furniture than it is to crawl to places!

So much fun!

Facebook Addiction

Ok, so people need to stop work so that they can continue to feed my facebook addiction. I get on during the day and get really dissappointed when there isn't new mail, wall posts, moves had on Scrabulous, gifts sent and the like! It's like my only contact with the outside world!

I know I sound desperate, and I know I need to learn to get off my butt and doing something constructive like darn socks or something...but facebooking, when other people are facebooking, is so much more fun!

I often hibernate the laptop in the vain attempt to trick myself into thinking that I don't want to do anything more on it...I'm usually back within the hour to see if there are any new developments though.

I'm a bit the same with email too though. But it seems to be even less popular than my facebook page!

It's a sad, sad world that I live in!

Christmas Shopping

I love Christmas...I love the deco's, the music, the trees, the joy because of why we have Christmas...and I wouldn't be a true Australian if I didn't admit to my like of Presents. I love to give presents as well as to receive.

Today I decided I should sit down and work out exactly what I would spend on each family member and realised that even if I was cheap, I am still not going to come off lightly! I've decided that my family is way too big! This is a time when both the husband & the wife coming from a family of 4 children is not helpful!

So I'm up for suggestions...anyone got any cool but cheap Christmas Present ideas?

Wordsmith

I so wish that I had have read the dictionary more, or even just read more books...I'm playing scrabble on one of those very popular internet community websites and I realy struggle with trying to get words! Most frustrating. Sometimes I come up with some pearlers but sometimes, my brain lives up to the title of this blog...it's a void!

Christmas Showcase

Well, every year our church does an outreach event called Christmas Showcase. Basically, a bunch of women go crazy for about a month arranging decorations, craft packs and the like in preparation to have close to 400 women over 2
time slots come to eat, drink coffee, do craft and
hear someone talk about the relevance of Jesus in our world and Christmas.

This year our theme was Christmas Table Talk. Our decorating was based around that so we did examples of how you can dress your christmas tables in different themes. I decorated 2 tables (Nativity -Chocolate Brown and Rustic Country). I was really psyched to do it, but then realised as I started to set it out that I have no idea how to decorate a Christmas Table because ours always has too much food on it to have decorations too!

But create I did and fun I had! I'm a bit inspired now to put some extra effort into my decorating this year.

The speaker, Suellen Millam from Orange, did a fantastic job of showing us how we can not dress up and play God, that we need him to be our God and that Jesus is the ultimate thing to think about and speak about at our Christmas Tables...because, let's face it, he is the reason we celebrate Christmas. This has given me the desire to talk more about Jesus at our Christmas Table and make that a priority.

Hmmm...

I thought that I would give this blogging a go. Hopefully people will find me interesting enough to read my bits & pieces...
